How to increase your RSS count by commenting on other blogs
We all know how important it is to have many RSS readers, in fact, the number of RSS readers has been used as a metric of valuing blogs. Not to mention the impact it has on first time visitors, arriving at a blog, and seeing a large number of RSS readers. I personally have subscribed to blogs that have a large number of readers (what I do a few weeks later is another story if the blog doesn´t live up to expectations).
So let me share a creative way of increasing your RSS reader count that I saw on Garry Conn a few months back.
As we all know, commenting on other blogs has lots of benefits, but lets see how it can also directly increase your RSS readers.
The next time you comment on a blog, on the part where you´re suppose to leave the URI of your blog, leave the address of your RSS feed instead.
Check the example on the screenshot.
Notice that where it says, URI, instead of putting in OnlineMoneyDot.com, I put in my feed address instead, http://feeds.feedburner.com/MakeMoneyFromHomeOpportunity.
When the visitors clicks on the link to check your site, they are show your most recent posts and given the option of signing up to your RSS feed right away.
This is not something I would use if the blog where I am commenting has the “nofollow” tag removed form the comments, since it wouldn´t pass any Google juice if you leave your RSS feed URL.
What do you guys think? Is this something you are willing to try?

I think this is a very good idea, I’ll give it a try.. Anyway, I ‘ll put your blog on my Favorites folder so I can check out your latest post regularly.
Hope to be your friend online.
Thanks

This is seems like an interesting idea, although I am curious to know if anyone has experienced serious subscriber fluctuations.
I would think that a reader may feel “tricked” into subscribing and thus unsubscribe after figuring out what has happened.

That could happen also. This is something that I don´t do, but then again I don´t have much time to comment on blog anyway.
well, a good idea. Maybe I will give a try. Have you tried this method? How was the result?
