If you have banner advertising on your blog you might want to read this post. Got Banners is a WordPress plugin that will let you rotate your advertiser´s or affiliate banners (usually 125×125). The Got Banners plugin will show all the banners at the same time, but will rotate their position in order to give all your advertisers equal exposure.

This way you won´t always have the same banners in the same spots. Its good for your advertiser and its good for you. The plugin will rotate the banners, and will also create the padding between them. I use the plugin on this blog, and so does John Chow.

Another great feature is the ability to let you manage the banners from within your WordPress administration. This way, anytime you sell or need to change banners, you don´t need to insert code into your WordPress templates. Check out the screen shot. All you have to do is put in the code for the banners, and then separate the different advertisers with a “~”.

So from now on, if you need to change the banners, you can do it all from within WordPress. Needless to say you can rotate affiliate banners until you sell all your ad spots.

Installing the Got Banners plugin is just like any other. You upload the files to your plugins folder, and activate the plugin.

The plugin is available in normal or widget versions. If you are going to use the non-widget version, like I am, you need to place the following code where you want the banners to rotate: This in between < ul > and < /ul > tags (without the space). You can also change the name from “Sponsors” to something else.
