Breakdown of my $11170 November internet profits
It´s time for my monthly internet earnings recap. November profits came in at $11170, which was up from last month´s $9580. This was an expected rise as the Christmas shopping season got rolling.
Lets look at how my profit numbers break down and analyze them in more detail.
ebay: $3100
e-commerce site: $2200
Blogs: $1500
Affiliate programs: $1850
Domain parking: $950
Adsense: $670
Miscellaneous: $900
Total: $11170
As expected my ebay sales and profits climbed significantly from last month, but still below last year´s level. The two main reasons for this are the fact that I dedicated a lot less time to ebay since I started blogging, and also the falling dollar.
Last year at this time 1€ would translate into less than $1.30, while this year the same Euro converts into $1.47. Since the items I sell are made in Europe, they become more expensive, and the same happens to the shipping expense. The falling dollar has also forced me to stop selling some items that have a much lower profit margin and aren´t worth my time with the dollar trading at these levels.
The same applies to my e-commerce site. In this case I have even had to reduce my Adwords spending to keep my margins high, at the expense of lower sales.
The revenue from my blogs went down last month, mostly due to the fact that I cut down on the number of reviews I did. When the PageRank on my blogs returned to 0 last month the value of my paid reviews went down. As such I didn´t do but a few short reviews that I was able to post in 15 to 20 minutes.
The Adsense revenue from my blogs was also down, especially since I have almost no ads on this blog since I updated to the new theme. I will take care of this soon.
Another thing that dragged down my blogging profit was the $79 I spent on this theme, and the $250 investment on the John Chow dot Com banner.
My affiliate revenue was also up from last month, but not as much as would be expected. The blame here is that I am still using mostly AuctionAds, which isn´t converting tracking at all. I should be using the eBay affiliate program directly through Commission Junction.
My biggest surprise this month was WidgetBucks, which managed to add almost $200 to my monthly profit.
My domain parking revenue was down. I can blame this on a drop in my average revenue per click, which fell to 14 cents last month. The fact that I haven´t optimized my parked domains in months probably has something to do with this.
I am pretty excited going into December, where I should easily beat the $11170 I did last month!

You should get whoever sold you this theme to fix up the front page. Where is the previous and next page links? I have to go to your archives page to find your previous posts instead of just reading everything page by page. How annoying :p
Hi,
I agree with you. I will be emailing him for that change. I have tried installing a plugin that is suppose to do this, but it doesn´t work on this theme.
By the way. I will probably email you on the forwarding the posts to a new url.
Wow, i’m impressed with your earnings.. and here i thought i was doing good with my measly $7,300 for the month..although, it was all from only one website, requiring very little upkeep
..
Since i’m all for diversifying, i think i’m going to signup for your RSS and start watching what you do..
RSS=RSS+1
Thanks Randy.
Well I started off on ebay and then with my own e-commerce site. But I have gotten that down to less that 50% of my monthly profits
wonderful! now… how does that make you feel?
